30/ Deep Dish Quiche
Line a springform pan with a pie crust and prick all over. Refrigerate until ready.
Saute in a sauce pan until crisp:
- 4-5 slices bacon, diced
Add and saute until translucent:
- ½ sweet onion, diced
Blend in blender until smooth:
- 6 eggs
- 3 c. half + half
- 2 garlic cloves
- pinch of fresh ground nutmeg
- salt + fresh pepper
- ¼ tsp. thyme
Spread bacon-onion mixture on bottom of pie crust. Sprinkle evenly over:
- 1-2 c. grated gruyere or comte cheese
Pour egg mixture over and loosely top with tinfoil. Cook in 350° oven on a cookie sheet for 1h 20min. Remove foil and cook an additional 15 minutes.
