1/ Chocolate Chip Cookies

My #1 asked for recipe. I've been making them since I was as little kid. My dad says they keep tasting better and better. Taste best when removed from oven looking slightly raw. Cool on pan before removing.

Whisk together in large bowl:

  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 ¼ c. brown sugar
  • ¼ c. sugar
  • 1-2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp. salt

Mix in thoroughly:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbl. half + half (or milk)

Fold in with rubber spatula:

  • 2 ¼ c. flour
  • 1 bag chocolate chips
  • ½ - 1 c. chopped pecans

Refrigerate dough several hours or overnight.

Scoop with large scoop (3-4 tbl.) onto cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 9-11 min.

Probably the key to making perfect cookies is perfectly scooped dough. This disher is about as great as getting jewelry in a blue box.
